About Me...

Hi! My name is Cheryl Valleroy. I have lived and worked here in Benton since 1982.

My greatest passion is simply creating.... whether it is with fabric, crafts, sewing, computer and/or music. I love to help people, and through my business, I am able to play with fabrics and color... help folks create treasured pieces of furniture that will fit their home and personality. It's a true joy.

My husband and I have 6 children, all of whom are grown with families of their own. We have a total of 14 grandchildren and 2 kitties.

When I am not in the shop... I enjoy several hobbies.....

Quilting! Last year I joined the Rend Lake Piecemaker's ~ a local quilting group who is celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2006 ! (CONGRATS GIRLS!!!) Dare I admit that ... I finally learned the PROPER way to use a THIMBLE in quilting??? <insert huge embrassed smile> hehe (That should be a standard slideshow on EVERY quilting website... LOL!!!!!!) Perhaps now I will be able to finish my quilt! :D

Embroidery, Sewing,Fitness, Health, Desktop Publishing, Music videos, Slideshows... all sorts of creative avenues scream for my attention and I dabble in whatever I can, when I can.... :) However, outside of family and work, the flute commands the most interest...

I love playing my flute (amd piccolo!) ...and am involved in several area organizations. The Southern Illinois Flute Choir based in Carbondale, IL (www.sifs.info), The John A Logan Orchestra in Carterville, The Southern Illinois Concert Band in West Frankfort, IL. These fine groups are willing to let me play - so hey! Hallelujah!!!!! God is good!!!
